There are many different phases we each experience in our lives.
I wrote two weeks ago about suicide and mental health. After writing my article, I have heard from several, how people they loved and cared about, were fighting with thoughts of suicide.
I spoke to someone just this morning about her 12-year-old child going through these thoughts.
This meme above, I found today, reminds us about the many different phases we go through here on our journey.
It reminded me about the Universal Law of Rhythm. I’ve taught about this Law and 9 other Universal Laws for a while now.
Understanding the Universal Law of Rhythm is important to you in many ways. This Law is about the natural cycles or phases of life. Everything has a natural rhythm to it.
We can see this with our sunrises and sunsets. Moon rise and moon set.
The tide goes in and the tide goes out.
Good times follow bad times.
In business, marketing follows a rhythm.
Sales have a rhythm to them as well.
Look at how technology has changed in just the last few years, much less look at where it was when each of us were growing up.
Relationships have a rhythm to them. Earning money has a rhythm.
During each of these seasons or cycles only certain things can happen.
Everything vibrates and moves to certain rhythms. These rhythms establish phases, cycles, or stages of development and patterns.
The Law of Rhythm states that everything is like a pendulum. Whenever something swings to the right, it must then swing to the left. Everything is involved with a dance………. A swaying back and forth. Everything is either growing or dying.
Knowing this gives us hope. Hope things won’t remain the same forever. The pendulum will swing to the other side soon.
There are cycles of economies, there is a high period and a low period. Everything has a rhythm or a pattern.
What seems to be random is very orderly.
This Law governs our economy, health, relationships, and spirituality. Let’s say that you’re at a peak potential with your health and fitness. If you realize you’re at the peak, then you can foresee your health and fitness dropping some as part of this cycle.
However, instead of viewing this “drop in health” as something being wrong with you, you now view it as a sign to rest your body, maybe change your nutrition as well. Slow down and take care of yourself.
Then by Law you will grow to a better and higher state of potential.
What we need to understand is, how we use this in our favor, to begin to understand what that rhythm is. Anything that has a rhythm to it, you actually get into that rhythm.
You’ve heard of people having a breakdown before having a breakthrough? That’s also the Law of Rhythm.
Begin to pay attention to your thoughts and feelings. Know that they are coming in cycles or in a rhythm.
When you understand this Law, intentionally you will not let yourself go down so far that you have no hope or you’re living in despair.
My wish is that all of you who are reading this article, will share it with someone you care about. Raise your awareness that there are different phases or rhythms throughout your life. Just maybe you’ll help someone in your life who is struggling.
With awareness, growth and shifts inside of you or the person you love, can happen.
Understand you’re in a down cycle and recognize it. It will begin to change. Or help your loved one to become aware that things are in a phase or cycle, and it will soon change.
When a person doesn’t recognize these times as a cycle, they can easily go into a downward spiral. Hence the thoughts of suicide.
When you notice the struggles happening with your loved ones, don’t let it go. Encourage them to get help. There are many places, people of all ages can go to get assessed. People need interventions in their life at different points and cycles. It’s up to you and me to reach out to help them.
I teach about appreciation being a doorway to shift into positive feelings. Stopping often to appreciate things and people, shifts your emotions to joy and love. It’s the easiest way to keep yourself from going down into a spiral of negativity.
Only most are not aware of this. They continue their spiral downward. When a person gets this far down, using appreciation probably won’t help them.
Pay attention to your rhythms and those of others around you. Send me a comment about any rhythm’s you have noticed in your life or that of a loved one.
If you need someone to talk to, I’m here.
- Here is the Emotional Scale I look at often. I’m a visual person and maybe you are too. Print this and keep it in places you’ll often look at it. It’s a great reminder to slow down, take care of yourself and perhaps reach out for help or reach out to help someone else.
