Happy Mother’s Day To My Beautiful Mom, Mary

May 9, 2020 by conniehertz Leave a Comment

Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom, Mary!~

Mother’s Day comes once a year, only moms can be appreciated and celebrated throughout the year.

As a result of me becoming a mom in 1982 with my son, Adam and then 21 months later with my daughter Abby, I found myself appreciating my mom more.

Therefore, I have viewed Mother’s Day differently over time.

Lately, with my mom’s health issues, my appreciation has grown even deeper for her.

My mom has filled our lives with song. She plays the piano and organ and has always sung in the choir at our church since she was a teenageer.

I have carried my love of song on to my kids and grandchildren. I hear my son singing to his daughter and son today. It warms my heart!

Because Dad wanted Mom to stay home with, we 5 kids, he needed to work two jobs for a good portion of our childhood.

Dad was a carpenter, working long hours each day. Fit, fun, funny and with a love of God and his family.

For instance, each day Dad would get home for dinner, we all ran to greet him. Only first, he swooped Mom into his arms with a big kiss!

Our giggles were a warm greeting for him.

I love Mom’s beauty!

Her movie star beauty is obvious at 16, 23 (with me as a newborn and my big sister) 49 and 87 in the photos below.

Mom baked cookies and cakes and for each of our birthdays, we got to pick out our favorite meals and whatever we wanted for a dessert, to celebrate our special day.  We did not have a lot of money, so mom would find ways to make everything seem special.  We always felt loved.

Consequently, celebrations have been carried throughout our family.

Acts of kindness come easily to my parents as well. Being active in their church creates many occasions for them to give back.

As of late, the church is giving back to my parents by hosting Zoom prayer time for my mom, as she has headed into surgeries.

Finally, my prayer is, we will all be together again this year of 2020.

We have all had obstacles throughout this COVID-19 pandemic, some more than others.

Mother’s Day will not be a normal one for all of us this year.

With that said, Mom, I love you more than I can express. My appreciation for you is enormous.

We are in each other’s hearts always.

Feel my love today on Mother’s Day, Mom.

Here’s to all of the Mother’s out there! Celebrate, feel loved and appreciated.
