Pictured here are a very special, unique group of friends. We call ourselves the Laker Chicks!
Most of us have known each other for well over 30 years. For the last 25 years, the 6 of us have been getting together on Lake Tippecanoe, west of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, at one of the Laker’s beautiful lake homes. ( I say homes, because over the years, it’s been 3 different homes!)
We all met in Muncie, Indiana where our kids were born, at an exercise/workout place.
We are all very different in personalities, always there for each other, and have gone through times of tears and much laughter.
Do you have friendships like this in your life? I hope so.
I speak about the importance of friendships and the different types of friendships and people in our lives in my M.O.V.E. Into Joy free 4 part series I’m in the middle of doing every Thursday evening. I encourage you to register for my informative, simple method I developed to help you to shift out of times when you find yourself not moving forward in your life, due to fear, sadness, being overwhelmed or a number of other things going on with you. I’ll send you the recordings.
If you can get on live the next two Thursday’s, you’ll have the benefit of interactions with others on the webinar per a chat bar and opening up your microphone to talk.
This Tuesday I’m hosting a virtual 60th birthday party for one of the Laker Chicks. Martha and I are born in the same year, as I’m turning 60 in July. We are in different cities now, so getting together in person is not as easy for this milestone birthday. The next best thing is to see each other through my meeting I use for my webinars!
Having close friendships are very important to me. I have several other friends from my childhood I’ve spoken of in other blogs I’ve written.
I have said many times, it takes a village to be a healthy person in this world. So reach out to your friends, your village, and see who needs to hear your voice and see your smile!
If you don’t have this “village”, create one!
Blessings to all of you,
Connie
